The following animation was created entirely by Matthew Thomas on 31 October, who sadly hasn't enough MB for his ASCII-art on his pages right now.
I have taken the liberty of adding a few frames at the end for verisimilitude in the loop. I hope that Matthew doesn't mind.
Many thanks to CJRandall for telling me how to change the Javascript coding in order to put two animations on one page. He has made a coloured version of this wonderful animation that can only be viewed in Netscape4 and MSIE4. I am still living in the dark ages and have not yet upgraded past Netscape3.
